Having a hard time trying to figure out what to pack in your gym bag? Don't fret! Let me guide you in the right direction! We all live different lifestyles, so no one gym bag will be the same. However we all will carry the same necessities, and what I mean by that is the "basics".

Now that we have the basics down lets move on. Let me give you a scenario, say for instance you want to freshen up a bit before you workout, but you have no deodorant or no wet wipes, so now you have to workout still smelling of a days work. I always make sure to have a "crash kit" with me at all times. I usually keep these items stored in small toiletry bag of some sort. This kit will contain some of the following travel size items.

  1. deodorant

  2. wet wipes

  3. lotion

  4. body wash

  5. tampons/pads (ladies)

  6. mouthwash

  7. body spray

  8. make up wipes

Second scenario would be, if you had another engagement to attend afterwards and needed to shower, that "crash kit" would definitely come in handy. Of course you would need to pack your change of clothes, a towel, and a loofah.

Lastly, let's talk about workout equipment you may carry with you from time to time. In my personal gym bag you will the following items:

  • ankle weights

  • jump rope

  • resistance bands (loop)

  • resistance band (w/ handle)

Be sure to take the items you'll actually need so that way you won't be weighed down. Other items you may carry depending on the type of workout you have in mind would be.

  • yoga mat

  • ab roller

  • free weight (light weight)

Doing this not only prepares you for a gym workout, but an outdoors workout as well. Now that you know the essentials you need to pack in your gym bag, you'll step into the gym more confident and fully prepared to conquer your workout! It may seem like a small task but it will make huge difference. Get up, get out and go SWEAT!!!!
